April 14th 2020 marks the 10th anniversary of Peter Steele’s death. Exactly five years ago, I had the intention alongside Pol from Branca Studio, to celebrate the anniversary by putting up a show of local bands in Barcelona playing songs from Carnivore and Type O Negative. In the end, and due to the lack of time and the available bands at the moment, the little celebration never came up! It was sad but the idea always remained there…somewhere in our folder of good intentions ! Luckily for me, as a TON fan and personal follower of Peter’s misinterpretation of life achievements and failures, Pol was there once again to remind me we should do something. After the crazy success of Sabbath’s zine by Branca Studio, the idea of creating another one with Peter Steele as the main subject was really clear. At that point, I should give all the credit and recognition to Pol and Marta, Branca Studio, who make that zine a reality. I was a little bit stressed in the weeks before the quarantine and not able to think much about this kind of special projects. So one more time, as a Peter Steele’s fan, thanks Branca Studio for making this little tribute happen. You are the best and I feel really proud to be a part in it.

«Alpha and Omega» is the title of my digital collage and it was done during the first week of march. I wanted to try something different this time, working without pen and paper…hopefully without fucking up any copyright in the process. I really wish it’s going to be a good contribution to the list of people involved and a nice tribute to the green man. As Pol said to all of us, just have fun doing it! And I did! I’m sure there will be a lot of torment, alcohol, drugs and big cocks in those pages. I also think that is important to remember Peter as an artist using his deep, hard and black sense of humour. For me was never only about his talent, but also about his charisma. It was also a matter of size of course! But as few others, he was unique. A true 90’s sex icon and stage beast. You won’t find it twice.

The zine contains the work of many fans. Illustrators, tattooers, designers, photographers and writers have contributed with forty colour pages of drawings, paintings, collage, texts and poems. All of them giving a personal view on Peter’s legend. This is also a non profit project. All benefits are dedicated to pay the printing and the shipping costs.
