Berlin & Barcelona

Well! I’m back from Berlin. This was my first time in the city and also at Das Kabinett. The experience has been great and I had the best of times working there. My special thanks goes to Alexander for following me since my Dortmund trips and getting this big goat tattooed. It was an honour once again.

Also, after many years of knowing him, I faced the incredible challenge of tattooing Matteo Radentti’s head…! No joke! Matteo is the studio owner and he needs no further introduction. His work is out of this world and he helped me through the whole process. I know it was painful but worthy too!

I really hope to establish a Berlin-Barcelona bridge to work there as many times per year as possible. I really enjoyed the city and working with all Das Kabinett’s team was a pleasure as I early mentioned. Please, if you want to get tattooed, just write me an e-mail and I will add you to my waiting list. As soon as it’s possible to go I will contact you back to ask for dates and availability. I’m always open to your ideas and also I have a huge amount of flash and projects ready to be tattooed. Please, don’t hesitate to ask for info!

Back in Barcelona I had the chance of tattooing Carlos again, one of my oldest clients in town who asked me for a special version of this tattoo about the plague doctor. Also, Dan, a classic client and tattoo collector from our Aloha Tattoos days, came for this Snaggletooth on his leg. You both know it was a pleasure! I’m always open to Motörhead tattoo proposals, don’t doubt it.

Finally, after almost three years, I was lucky enough to take some good pictures of this big harpy which is also tattooed on Carlo’s leg. This was done right after the lockdown for the fucking Covid pandemy. It was, back then, and until now, one of my favourite projects to work in.

Thank You all for following me here and not only on instagram. My agenda is open for this summer in Barcelona at Eclipse, my home. After, I’m planning on visiting Berlin again, Brussels, Vienna, Zurich and Copenhage too. Keep posted!

Ravens and Drôls, Harpies and time animals

Looks like I haven’t posted any tattoos here on my blogsite since a long time ago! Ravens are back, that’s for sure. I’m really happy with the result of this one shot piece done on my colleague Skinny Marciano. He was looking for one of those dark ravens since we met back in…2018? A fuckinglongtimeago in London. A pleasure tattooing you and a really nice chat! Same as the next one, a three leg raven from the japanese mithology, called Yatagarasu:

This one was done in three sittings on one of my bravest clients ever. Thank you very much Raul for never complaining about pain and sitting so well during hours. You are a hero.
Last pictures are from my last visit to Fun Tattoo in Porto with my friend Neco and his apprentice Mariana. It was an enormous pleasure to be back after Covid dark ages and have the chance to work at their new location. I was also invited to bring my merch and artwork to participate in their open market which is taking place once a month. It was great to feel the good old tattoo vibes again after many years. Fun Tattoo Studio is fueling Porto’s tattoo scene with energy and a connection with some forgotten ways of understanding our craft. For all this and the crazy ammount of attention that my black book of designs got there, I’m forever in their team.
I’m gonna be back for sure to one of my favourite cities in Europe. To all my clients and friends there, thank you very much again and again.

Sirins, storm warriors and time machines

I recently had the pleasure of working on a favourite subject of mine, sirins and harpies. David, aka Sinistral Mortimer on instagram, came from Bratislava to get this huge piece done in two days in a row. That was a true display of strenght and commitment and will always have my admiration and respect.

A million thanks again David for your blind trust in my work and ways.

I also had the privilege of tattooing two old clients of mine in very interesting subjects such as time machines and storm warriors. I feel lucky as hell! Daniel, and Jonathan from El Verbo Studio , thank you very much again and again. Being able to go deeper on these subjects is something I really want to try.

To end this post and stage of the year, I’m going to show you my first collaboration with my good friend and co-founder partner at Eclipse Tattoo Barcelona El Carlo. We were asked several months ago by Juanito Sin Alma to draw something of our own in a combined piece. It was fluid, funny and really great to work on that creature from the abyss:

We would really like to thanks Juanito fro his wild trust in our ideas and also to encourage anyone who feels pretty brave to try and make us a call. Doing this collaboration has been really fun and we are looking forward to repeat the experience!

Hola de nuevo! Esta vez sí, si no hay contratiempos, bajaré a tatuar a Valencia la primera semana de Diciembre. Estaré solo dos días y con espacio limitado en lo que se refiere a citas. ¡Podréis encontrarme en El Nido! Storm Warriors

This past summer I had the chance of tattooing a pair of gentleman coming from England and the U.S.A and both asked for my beloved storm warriors. So thanks Adam and Javier for your trust in this particular subject of heavy birds. It’s been a pleasure.

I also had the chance of taking a closer look to one of my favourite tattoos from 2021. This one is on Jonatan and we will continue his leg very soon!

Long Live Tattooing

This is the artwork I’ve been comissioned to do for the new studio of the italian tattoo master and commander Rino Valente. Long Live Tattooing will open it’s doors this week in San Casciano, Chianti (Italy). I encourage everybody to follow Rino’s work in full, he’s a true craftsman whose abilities don’t end in tattooing at all. A genius figure I’ve been glad to know in person for years and trusted my projects on leather since long ago.

Once again, my Molotows pens and a Din A3 Saunders Waterford paper have been my weapons of choice. For this kind of projects, that take long and need an extreme clean outcome, this combination it’s far better than other traditional inking options. Love the quill and ink but I guess I’m not that skilled!

Time machines, time animals, birds

First and never last but always, yes…the first selection of 2022 tattoos. I’m really happy to have the chance of working on these three subjects. They are really interesting and I know that, specially for the strange animals and machines, a huge amount of trust is required from my clients. So again, thank you very much for stepping forward. All these tattoos were done between Eclipse Tattoo Barcelona and Cobra Tattoo Madrid.
This year, as things seems to be back on track, I’ll try to travel a little bit more to old and new places as well. Right now, two destinations are confirmed:

The Devil, some birds and other time animals.

The end of this crazy intense year marks the begining of some new stuff I’m working on. But! Do not forget the classics!! Goats and harpies are forever.

My special thanks in this post goes to Jose. His commitment and energy coming from so far to get this giant goat tattooed have been inspiring. I’m really happy with the result as it’s always a challenge to work this big. Also was really great to have a good understanding between us since minute one. He’s a fine tattoo collector and his body is filled already with some serious stuff. From tattooer to tattooer, hope you meet him in the future!

The rest of this fine pieces were done at Cobra Tattoos Madrid and Eclipse Tattoo Barcelona, my home. As you know, birds and harpies are always more than welcome! But in this crazy and uncertain times I’m trying to develop a new batch of work…time animals and time machines!

You’ll find some examples of them in my available designs section. This pair are the first time animals I’ve had the pleasure of tattooing.

I really can not wait to expand this line of work and create more for those interested in them. Don’t doubt in getting in touch!
As I’m mostly sure, this will be probably the last post of the year. So I wish you the best for the next one. I’ll be on the road again as soon as possible, hopefully doing some conventions in Europe in 2022. Who knows?!
